Addo enjoys a Mediterranean climate with mild, wet winters (May-September) and warm, dry summers (October-April). Temperatures range 8-25°C in winter and 15-35°C in summer. Year-round game viewing is excellent, though elephant activity peaks during warmer months. Marine wildlife viewing is seasonal, with whales present June-December.

Getting there
Addo Elephant National Park is located 72 kilometers north of Port Elizabeth via the N2 and R335 highways. Port Elizabeth Airport provides convenient access with rental car facilities. Multiple park entrances include the main Addo Gate, Matyholweni Gate for northern sections, and Colchester section for marine areas. Day visitor and overnight accommodation bookings are essential.
